How to Reduce the Juice at Christina Miller
A dual flush toilet conserves water by offering a choice of two different toilet flush volumes – a low volume flush for liquids and a full volume flush for solids so make sure you push the right button!
Use the stairs rather than the lift whenever possible
Radiators can be controlled to work more efficiently. Switch to 0 when leaving the room to switch the heating off, and turn to 3 when heating is required to ensure the most efficient heating setting. If you’re cold, make sure to keep your windows closed and to put warm clothing on before turning the heating up!
To report repairs (such as broken lights or heating or missing recycling bins) please fill out a job card or speak to housekeeping
Close the blind when it is dark to retain as much heat as possible and keep them open during the daytime to allow the sun to heat up the room!
Switch the lights off when not in use in the kitchen
For the electric hob, use flat-bottomed pans so the pan is in full contact with the ring and keep the rings clean, as burnt foodstuff absorbs heat, making an electric ring less efficient
Save energy and wash at 30oC by using the ‘delicates/woollens’ setting. Also, rather than using the dryers dry your clothes on a maiden – not only will this save energy but also save you money!
